OBJECTIVES
1. Student will be able to perform the steps necessary to operate a laser cutting machine, including opening the Corel Draw program, importing an image, exporting an image to laser software, adjusting the parameters of height, width and depth, choosing the right format for woodblock cutting, starting the laser, turning on the fan, finishing and closing the program when it is finished. Bloom’s- Remembering, Standard 3-GLE 1- Demonstrate competency in traditional and new art media, and apply appropriate and available technology to express ideas ( Literacy/Numeracy)
2. Student will be able to explain artistic ideas that show personal reflection about their final woodcut print in a written statement. Bloom’s-Evaluate, Standard 4-GLE 2- Communication through advanced visual methods is a necessary skill in everyday life (Literacy)
3. Student will be able to identify the reflective self portraiture artwork of of Kathe Kollwitz, Andy Warhol, Hugo Besard, Van Gogh, Picasso, Frieda Kahlo, Albert Durer, Michelangelo or Di Vince? Bloom’s- Remembering, Standard 2-GLE 1 Reflective Strategies are used to understand the creative process (Literacy)
4. Student will be able to will create a layered woodcut with a minimum of 2 layers, one from a laser cut woodblock and one from traditional hand-cutting techniques. Students will demonstrate knowledge of composition, contrast and personally relevant imagery. Bloom's- Create, Standard 3-GLE 1- Demonstrate competency in traditional and new art media, and apply appropriate and available technology to express ideas
